The Devil .

I bought a deck of Tarot cards after experiencing an heartbreak.

I started reading tarot for myself everyday, and it feels like having a friend by my side. She is honest, kind and sometimes harsh, but always available.

UPRIGHT: Shadow self, attachment, addiction, restriction, sexuality

This is devil. it's also kind of a very scary one, but also my favourite one.

In the card you can see there are a man and a woman standing on the two sides, and they have chains on their neck.

They are Eva and Adam, who also showed up in the Lovers card. Compared to them being joyful in the other card, here, they are chained, controlled.

However, their chains are loose. It's not forced by the devil. The lovers put the chain on voluntarily.

The other day, my crush read a tarot for me. It was the reverse of Devil.

REVERSED: Releasing limiting beliefs, exploring dark thoughts, detachment

They say it means I am wasting time on things that give me stimulus.

I think so, because they are exactly the source to that stimulus.

In some ways, reading Tarot card itself is a stimulus, but it has this anti-addiction effect that it will let me know don't do it too much.

I appreciate how Tarot is always so direct in warning me to focus on myself. To me, devil is not a bad sign, but an honest friend who won't indulge you but will remind you who you are, and the fact that your strength and calm are still within you.
